WhatsApp Business API questions

How do I get the WhatsApp Business API for my business?
Connect your number to TextNation through Meta’s Embedded Signup — you log in with Facebook, choose your business and verify the number. If your number is already on the WhatsApp Business API with another provider, you can move it to TextNation instead.
What does the WhatsApp Business API cost in India?
Meta charges per delivered template message, by category — marketing, utility or authentication — and each business number gets 1,000 free service messages a month. Use our free WhatsApp pricing calculator to estimate Meta’s charges for your volumes. TextNation’s own pricing depends on your volumes — talk to us for a quote.
What are WhatsApp template categories?
Every business-initiated message uses a template approved by Meta, in one of three categories: marketing (offers, re-engagement), utility (order, delivery and account updates) and authentication (one-time passwords). Meta can re-categorise a template, which changes its price — TextNation pauses campaigns automatically if a utility template becomes marketing.
Can I send WhatsApp campaigns from an Excel sheet?
Yes. Upload your list, choose the approved template and map each template variable to a column, so every customer gets their own details. Review the audience and content before sending, or schedule it for later.
Can customers reply to my WhatsApp messages?
Yes. Replies and new chats land in the WhatsApp Messages inbox, where you can open the whole conversation with each number and export it. Replies and button taps can also trigger the next step in a Journey.
Do you support carousel and interactive templates?
Yes — text, media, buttons, carousels with several cards, and authentication templates with copy-code buttons. You can also start from Meta’s template library for faster approval.
Can I send WhatsApp messages through an API or from WebEngage?
Yes. Send from the TextNation panel, through our HTTP API, from WebEngage with TextNation as the WhatsApp provider, or as steps in a Journey. Delivery and read status come back by webhook.
